Alright, my loves, this is it!! The final post from my partnership with @MarriottIntl Peru, featuring the remaining original artworks I created from my journey there this past August 🥹🖼️💗🦙🇵🇪✨. The first piece is an homage to the otherworldly magical @JWMarriottCusco and my two new besties, Panchita & Chaska. They are the resident baby alpacas who greeted me every morning and evening there and made my stay so unforgettable.

The second illustration is a tribute to the serenity and tranquility experienced while staying at @HotelTamboDelInka, in the heart of the Sacred Valley. And for my final piece, I of course wanted to capture the once-in-a-lifetime journey to Machu Picchu, where I had a chance encounter with a family of llamas roughly 8,000 feet above sea level 😭🫶🏻✨. I’m still not certain these artworks do my trip justice but I certainly painted each stroke from my heart!!

My heart was/is so very full after seeing this room filled with incredible content creators and journalists (from The NYTimes to AFAR), who gathered together to celebrate beautiful Peru, and be the first to see the artworks I created from my trip there 🖼️🎨🦙.

The event was hosted at the extraordinary Peruvian restaurant @ArtesanoNY in Tribeca, which served up quintessential local bites, like lomo saltado and octopus ceviche!! I also loved being able to share the origin story of this partnership with everyone. Truly a DREAM collaboration. I still pinch myself, nearly a decade after quitting my corporate design job, that I get to do this for a living 😭.

Darlings, I’m so excited to finally start sharing all of the original art I created for my partnership with @MarriottIntl Peru this fall 😍🎨🇵🇪. I’m going to post them in the order of my trip bc they tell the visual story of my journey there this past August. The first illustration is an homage to the cuisine in Lima!! There’s simply no better way to capture the essence of this city, which boasts 4 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2023, than through its food!!

This first piece features the exquisite chirimoya pavlova from @JWMarriottLima as well as the oh so perfect ceviche I had at @SheratonLima. And for the second illustration, I captured the dreamy terrace view at @HotelParacas, which looks out onto their private dock 🥰✨. These paintings have me itching to go back and experience it all over again. Can’t wait to share the other artworks and snapshots from our press event last week!! More soon, loves xx MM

Falling into FALL 🥰🦋🍁!! Hello from Canada, my loves!! We are just a few days shy from Canadian Thanksgiving, so it feels only right to share my artwork titled ABUNDANCE once more. When I originally painted it, I kept thinking about the expression “what we appreciate, appreciates”. While I’m currently backlogged with emails and commissions, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be surrounded by my family, doing what I love the most 🥹. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on behind the scenes with you all. More soon, darlings!!

Darlings!! I’m absolutely, positively, over-the-MOON to invite you to join me in TUSCANY, ITALY 🇮🇹 for an immersive art retreat with @uptrekcom, Oct 12-19, 2024!!

This week-long, bucket list experience, will take place in a beautiful private villa, with designated workshop spaces, surrounded by sun-soaked hills, elegant cypress trees, and a personal Italian chef!! As your instructor, I’ll be providing daily art demonstrations, alongside my sister as your helpful teaching assistant 👯‍♀️💛!!

We will be creating from our idyllic villa surroundings, from Florence to San Gimignano, through a fashion-art lens. I’ll be teaching you the foundations of using both gouache paints and Tombow markers. We will also be learning the basics of figure drawing live from a model, since this has been one of your top requests!!

Darlings, today is the day!! The first day of fall

Darlings, today is the day!! The first day of fall 🍁, the first day of Libra ♎️, and it’s my BIRTHDAY 🎂!! I sent out something oh so special to those of you subscribed to my newsletter this AM, which I cannot wait for you to discover!! And in keeping with the TWD tradition, I have my annual community TB below 🥹. Where do I even begin?!

This past year has been one of the most transformative of my life. So much change and personal growth ✨. Chopping off my hair was really just the tip of the iceberg 🤣!! And since we are just 3 months shy from the end of 2023, I’ll let you in on a little secret. My word for the year was UPLEVELING and boy did I ever embrace every inch of its meaning!!

That maybe explains why, for the first time in my 30’s, I don’t actually feel sad about getting older this year. Now more than ever I recognize that every day is an opportunity to create the life of my dreams!! I’m determined to keep leaning into my fears and letting all the LIGHT and POSSIBILITY in 💫!! I feel so inspired to be an example of the change I wish to see!!

Very recently, one of our beautiful community members sent me this msg: “I love seeing brave, creative, soul-centred women like you paving the way for the next generations. I always felt like a square peg being jammed into a round hole. I’m happy to see times are changing for the better.” And just like that, I saw a glimpse into my greater purpose!!

This is perhaps one of the more cryptic birthday messages I’ve ever written on here. But I think it’s with good reason. I’m in the midst of BIG change and I cannot wait to see how fully I bloom on the other side 😭🌸. As always, THANK YOU, each and every one of you, for being on this journey with me!! You will never know just how much you light up my life!!

The new @SerenaGWolf x @Dogwood.Hill holiday “Tastemaker Collection” art reveal continues, my loves!! I present “Toast of the West Coast” 💗🌴 vs “Toast of the East Coast” ❤️🌲, inspired by Serena’s dreamy California upbringing and classic Christmases in NYC. She mentioned The Beverly Hills Hotel as one of her favourite design references which really helped to kickstart the art and color palette for this suite. I ended up creating these two different sleighs (one with a surfboard 🏄🏼‍♀️ and the other with skis ⛷️) to really play on the two very different holiday hobbies from one coast to the other. And now I have to ask, which coast is your favourite?!

The irony of posting this during NYFW is not lost

The irony of posting this during NYFW is not lost on me, I promise 😆. Nevertheless, I’m so excited to FINALLY share my interview with @FashionUnitedHQ!! Back in August, I had the most wonderful Zoom interview with the brilliant @Jackie_Mallon1 about my unconventional art career and all the pipe-dream projects it has lead me to outside of the fashion industry. I’m so UNBELIEVABLY grateful to all of my incredible clients throughout the past decade who continue to believe in me and support my dreams 🥹. 99.9% of the jobs you see me post about come directly to me through instagram without an agent/agency. I hope this article inspires and reassures you that all you need is yourself, your talent, and a social media account to build a wildly fulfilling career!! Our last day in Peru has arrived, my loves 😭💗⛰️🇵🇪🦙!! And what an UNBELIEVABLE journey it has been. So much so that I ended up pushing back my return flight home, just so I could have this extra day to breathe, paint, reflect, and reset in the stillness of the Sacred Valley at @HotelTamboDelInka. I’m so grateful to Daniel, the hotel’s wonderful General Manager, for allowing me to stay the extra night 🥹🙏🏼.
