Postcard from sunny Monaco 🌞🌊🇲🇨✨!! I hadn’t properly explored Monte-Carlo on foot since high school…in other words, just 5 years ago 😆. So despite how painful it was to disembark beautiful ILMA, I was truly elated to make the 50 min walk from Port Hercule to lunch at Club La Vigie with friends, and discover everything in between.

I only had from 12-4:30pm to explore but I have it on good authority that a drink at Hôtel de Paris is also a must (if only for the people watching). And with that darlings, we have reached the conclusion of my coverage from the pre-inaugural ILMA @RitzCarltonYachtCollection voyage. I can’t thank you enough for being on this journey with me!!

The making of my illustrated Saint-Tropez Map for ILMA @RitzCarltonYachtCollection Part ✌🏼👩🏼‍🎨🗺️🎨🇫🇷✨!! If you were curious how I delivered the final art file to my amazing client, now you can see it above. In truth, so few of my final pieces are ever actually painted as one piece. The vast majority are done on several different sheets of watercolor paper and then layered together in Photoshop. And since I poured so much of my heart and soul into this piece, I hope you don’t mind a second look 🥹. What should my next illustrated map destination be?!

Loves, without further ado, here is the final custom art piece, Part 4/4, I created for the Pre-Inaugural ILMA @RitzCarltonYachtCollection voyage 🥹🌊🛥️🎨!! This commemorative print was left in every guest’s room before we arrived in Monaco, to take home as a memento of our journey of a lifetime 💌. You may notice it was also the inspiration for my large scale canvas!! Can you imagine how surreal it must have been for me to see and experience ILMA in real life after drawing her from photos?! I still feel like it was all a dream. Stay tuned for a few more highlights 🤗.

The custom art pour ILMA’s Pre-Inaugural Voyage

The custom art pour ILMA’s Pre-Inaugural Voyage @RitzCarltonYachtCollection continues, friends!! Part 3/4 involved painting a 30” x 40” canvas 👩🏼‍🎨🌅 LIVE, as we set sail from Saint-Tropez to Monaco, our final stop of the voyage. To say I was nervous, is a massive understatement 😆. Would you believe me if I told you I hadn’t painted at this scale since the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2019?!

After I finished my last 3hrs of customizing goods in the morning, I headed straight to my suite to get the base coat down. I added a very light compositional skeleton in white, to be certain everything would fit nicely while painting the rest live. Once I did that, I knew exactly how to attack this piece during the 2hr cocktail party where we were serenaded to the tunes of @Bleu_Toucan!! Still more to come!!

Darlings 🥹!! Introducing Part 2/4 of the custom

Darlings 🥹!! Introducing Part 2/4 of the custom art I created for ILMA @RitzCarltonYachtCollection: an illustrated map of Saint-Tropez 🗺️🎨🇫🇷✨!! Every guest on the voyage received this in their room during turndown service, the night before we arrived 🩵. This was by far the most challenging piece to create. I had to find a way to layout all of the key places, which are highly concentrated in one area, without overcrowding the map.

I also had just 48hrs to turn around the final after landing in NY from RC Grand Cayman in July 😆. Each icon you see on the map was hand-painted 8.5” x 11”, scanned and then cut out in Photoshop to be dropped on the map. So in a way, this piece contains 25 finals in one. I’m so proud of it for so many reasons. The absolute cherry on top was being able to ride ILMA’s tender to the Port de Saint-Tropez, and rediscover all of the places I illustrated in real life 😭. More to come!!

In honor of our official departure, the @RitzCarlt

In honor of our official departure, the @RitzCarltonYachtCollection hosted a Sail Away Celebration on their rooftop deck tilted “Memorable Blue” 🥹💙🌊. Since the name ILMA is the Maltese word for water, we were all encouraged to wear our best Ritz-Carlton blue to the party. This was my first official 3hr event of the voyage, customizing all of the different leather goods, while DJ @SamFeldt spun an exclusive set for us!!

I still cannot believe any of the above actually happened 🤣 but alas IT DID!! In true MM fashion, I couldn’t help but dance while seated at my paint station lol. Truly #RCMemories to last a lifetime!! Stay tuned for the next artwork reveal, to see what I spent weeks preparing behind the scenes this summer for our day excursion in Saint-Tropez 🗺️🇫🇷😉!! Loves!! I finally have a bit of downtime to start sharing my custom art for the ILMA Pre-Inaugural Voyage of a lifetime @RitzCarltonYachtCollection 🌊🛥️🎨!! For Part 1/4, I was asked to create original designs to adorn leather luggage tags, passport holders, card holders, and bookmarks LIVE for the guests. It was so fun interacting with everyone and seeing their enthusiasm over this activation 🥹. I did three, 3hr sessions each, one of which took place on the rooftop deck as we sailed away from Barcelona 🇪🇸 to Saint-Tropez 🇫🇷!! I can’t wait to reveal it all!!

Darlings, I’m so THRILLED to share that I’ve been commissioned by the @RitzCarltonYachtCollection to create all of the custom art for the pre-inauguration voyage of their newest superyacht: ILMA 🥹🇪🇸🛥️🇫🇷🎨✨!! Join me as we set sail from Barcelona, to Saint-Tropez, and Monaco this week, while I put my paintbrush to work.

I first met with the wonderful RC Yacht team back in 2018, so you can imagine just how special this project is to me. It stands as an incredible testimony that just because something hasn’t happened yet, doesn’t mean it won’t. Trust in the divine timing of your life!! I cannot WAIT to share all the art I’ve worked on behind the scenes for the past 4 months!!

I couldn’t have asked for a dreamier first few days to acclimatize and prepare myself for embarkment on the PROJECT OF A LIFETIME. La Pedrera - Casa Milà ✨ left an indelible impression on me, nearly two decades ago, when I first came to Barcelona with my McGill bestie @JennyDevenny. In all seriousness it makes me emotional to return to a spot that I first discovered, and was so deeply inspired by, before beginning the Travel Write Draw chapter of my life.

The younger me who first stood in awe of this rooftop never would have DREAMED of the reason I’d be brought back here today!! So much of my life does not look anything like I expected it to all those years ago. Mostly because I could never have imagined a life so defined by purpose, a calling so much greater than I ever even knew was possible 😭. I know I say this often, but I mean it with every fibre of my being, I’m so damn grateful. The best is always yet to come!!

Hola from Barcelona, Darlings 😍💃🏼🍷🇪🇸✨!! I’ve made my way over a few days early before my work trip begins this weekend, gah!! Tmrw I’ll be on the hunt for a fabulous art supply store as I prepare myself for the project of a lifetime that brought me here!! This voyage we are about to embark on is going to be so next level, I can barely keep it together these days 😆. More on that to come!! Golden moments from the past few months with frien

Golden moments from the past few months with friends who feel like family 🥹💓. Loves, as I mentioned in my previous post, I wasn’t able to make my trip home to Canada this summer due to tight deadlines. You can imagine then, just how much I’ve cherished the hugs from my adopted kin here in NYC, between rounds of revision feedback, project confirmations, etc. I don’t have photos from every cup filling date, but you know who you are, and I love you!!

Just remember that most of what you see on social are the glamorous and glossy final results of months and months of hard work and sacrifice behind the scenes. It’s the “hard” that I’ve chosen, so I’m definitely not complaining. It’s just easy to forget that everything you see on here has a price. Luck is when years and YEARS of preparation meets opportunity 😉. And with that, I cannot wait to share one of the biggest activations I’ve ever worked on, this week!!!!

A sneaky, albeit highly abbreviated, behind-the-scenes peek at some of the DREAM projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on this summer (outside of Cannes Lions in June and RC Grand Cayman in July, of course) 🥹💓🎨!! This has hands-down been the busiest work summer of my career. So much so that I had to cancel my trip home to Canada to see my family, just to ensure I could deliver on the tight deadlines. One of these projects alone has 4 different art components, 2 done in advance of departure, and the other 2 that will be activated live during the voyage, gah!! If you’ve found me slow to post the past couple of months, this is why. I simply can’t wait to finally spill all of the beans 🤣.

Darlings, happy August 1st 💐!! My oh my, this summer is flyingggg by. I came up for air today for the first time since returning from Grand Cayman last week. I’ve been on back-to-back deadlines from the moment I landed, for a multitude of partnerships, one of which is rather supersized 😉 and departs in just a couple of weeks!! It’s the biggest and most involved Travel Write Draw activation of the year thus far and I just know you are going to LOVE IT when all is revealed 🥹🫶🏼.
