Each piece was titled with a word that captured how I wanted to feel in that moment. But as jobs picked up, I never got around to finishing the 4th & final season, till now. My loves!! With London Fashion Week officially upo My loves!! With London Fashion Week officially upon us, I thought it would be fun (and useful) to compile some of my fave spots from my soul city šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§āœØ. After 6 years of back-to-back extended stays in London, I feel like I have some authority on the topic šŸ˜†. That made it all the more challenging to reduce this to a 20 photo carousel!! Full disclosure, a big part of London culture is having access to private members clubs. I wanted to make sure that what I recommended was accessible to anyone and everyone visiting. This list barely scratches the surface, honestly, and Iā€™ll likely have to do another one in the future. These are just a handful of my tried and true spots that I return to. Storytime: In honor of the @CalvinKlein Collection Storytime: In honor of the @CalvinKlein Collection returning to the runway at NYFW, hereā€™s a throwback to one of my most surreal career momentsā€”being commissioned to sketch live backstage at their FW15 show šŸ„¹āœšŸ¼āœØ. Iā€™ll never forget opening that email with the ā€œSubject Line: Calvin Klein + Travel Write Drawā€ from CK Corp šŸ˜­. I was barely six months into running TWD full-time at that point. And suddenly there I was, sketchbook in hand, feverishly capturing one of the seasonā€™s biggest shows, while Francisco Costa and Anna Wintour meticulously reviewed each final look. The exhilaration of that moment is something Iā€™ll never forget. Over the past decade, Iā€™ve pivoted more toward the travel industry, but my fashion roots remain so dear to me. I feel incredibly fortunate that the start of my career aligned with the rise of Instagram, paving the way for so many illustratorsā€”myself includedā€”to turn their passion into their profession. But the more I reflect on it, the more I think about the destinations that profoundly shifted my perspectiveā€”on the world and my small but meaningful place in it šŸ„¹šŸŒŽāœØ. So, in no particular order, here are the Top 5 trips that have shaped my worldview thus far: 1. Egypt šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡¬ ā€“ Theorizing about the origins of the pyramids is still one of my favorite things to geek out over. 2. Japan šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡µ ā€“ The artistry in everything they do, the food, the graciousness and humility of the people, the calm within the chaos. 3. Tanzania šŸ‡¹šŸ‡æ ā€“ Camping in the Serengeti, witnessing the circle of life unfold, the animals taking only what they need. 4. India šŸ‡®šŸ‡³ ā€“ The kindness, the colors, the intricate craftsmanship, the block prints, the balance of tradition and modernity. 5. Peru šŸ‡µšŸ‡Ŗ ā€“ The unparalleled generosity, the freshest and greatest food Iā€™ve ever had, the wisdom of the Inca empire, the energy of Cusco and the Sacred Valley. I did, however, fall in love with the international and entrepreneurial essence of McGill Management all those years ago. I didnā€™t know it then but McGill completely expanded my worldview and molded me into the business owner I am today. I hope my story stands as a testimony that your journey is uniquely YOURS. Trust your instincts above all else because only YOU know what you are truly capable of!! Lean into your interests. Do not stress if you donā€™t have all your answers. Los Angeles, City of Angels, my heart is shattered Los Angeles, City of Angels, my heart is shattered watching this horrifying catastrophe unfold from the East Coast. Iā€™ve donated to @PasadenaHumane, who have taken in hundreds of displaced animals, as well as the @CAFireFound, who are helping to support Californiaā€™s fearless firefighters on the frontline. Darlings, happy, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you are a Darlings, happy, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you are all feeling positive and renewed for 2025. I vowed to really rest this holiday season and take some much needed time offline. As such, Iā€™m a wee bit late to post my āœØTop 10 of 2024āœØ. I hope you donā€™t mind me still sharing my list šŸ„¹. It was a challenging yet massively rewarding year, filled with many, many highs & lows, but Iā€™m so enormously grateful for it all. So letā€™s begin in (somewhat) chronological orderā€¦ Starting from Carousel Photo 2: 1. I launched my sophomore @BlueSkyPlanners collection 2. Illustrated live for the launch of @BridgertonNetflix S3 3. Custom painted live at a brandā€™s Cannes Lions Villa SoirĆ©e 4. Launched my tea menu for @RitzCarltonGrandCayman 5. Worked on my first apparel collab coming this Spring 2025 6. Took a solo trip to Barcelona (first time back since McGill) 7. Created the launch art for @RitzCarltonYachtCollectionā€™s newest super yacht, ILMA 8. Finally received my EB-1A Green Card status in the U.S. 9. Celebrated 10 years of running Travel Write Draw full-time 10. Navigated the scariest neck injury (cervical spine disc herniation) which caused MS like symptoms for months Much of this year felt like a balancing act between PT appts and deadlines. I realized just HOW vulnerable I am as a one-woman-show when my health came crashing down. When I picked the word ALIGNMENT for 2024, I had no idea it would mean literally realigning my spine šŸ™ƒ. But in all of this I found my strength. I learned to trust my gut. I realized just HOW fortunate we are to wake up with our health every single day. And I will take all of this with me into 2025 and beyond!! As always, THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for being on this journey with me!! Youā€™ll never know just how much your words of support and kindness got me through the last 12 months šŸ˜­. Just remember that we never really know what battles people are fighting behind closed doors. Nothing is ever what it appears on the glossy world of IG.
