Darlings, I’m so beyond elated to finally share all of the artwork I was commissioned to create for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s newest superyacht, ILMA!! I first connected with the RC Yacht team back in 2018 and working with them remained at the top of my visionboard ever since. You can imagine just how ecstatic I was when I received an email from the team again in late April of this year, to enquire about live art customization for their pre-inaugural voyage this August.
After weeks of back and forth, we collectively settled on 4 fabulous art components to compliment this once-in-a-lifetime journey. To begin, I was tasked with creating a French Riviera inspired designs to paint live on leather goods (luggage tags, bookmarks, card & passport holders) for the journalists and creators onboard. I was also commissioned to design and illustrate a custom Saint-Tropez map, which would be handed out to every guest on the voyage for our day trip to the idyllic destination.
For the final 2 components, I was hired to paint a large scale canvas live during our sail away party from Saint-Tropez to Monaco, as well as illustrate a commemorative postcard to be gifted to every guest on our final evening. The prep-work for this project was quite significant, as you can imagine. It was a lot to coordinate and I’m so unbelievably proud of what we achieved together. I made sure that the live painting was a recreation of the custom postcard that had been done in advance to ensure a strong execution.
I just want to close by saying how UNREAL the experience was on The Ritz-Carlton Yacht’s ILMA. It is a truly luxurious 5-Star hotel experience on the water from boarding to disembarking. Waking up on our final morning, docked in Monaco’s Port Hercule, gives me chills just reliving the memories. My suite ambassador RJAY also made sure that I was so comfortable and well taken care of the entire voyage. I’m keeping my toes and fingers crossed that I will have the opportunity to partner with the team again in the future.
